About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Company Description DBByte is a modern data infrastructure platform designed for speed, scale, and reliability. The company provides high-performance object storage and global content delivery that support fast, resilient applications across the internet. With a focus on performance at every layer, DBByte streamlines how data is stored, served, and scaled. By removing infrastructure bottlenecks, DBByte enables product teams to move quickly and build robust, data-intensive services.
Role Description This is a full-time, remote Senior Software Engineer II role. In this position, you will design, build, and maintain distributed systems that power DBByte’s storage and content delivery platform. You will write and review high-quality code, drive architectural decisions, and improve system performance, reliability, and scalability. You will collaborate with product, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver features end-to-end, from technical design through production deployment and monitoring. You will also mentor other engineers, contribute to technical standards, and help shape best practices for development, testing, and operations.
Qualifications
Strong experience in backend software engineering, including proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Go, Java, Rust, Python) and building production-grade services.
Hands-on experience with distributed systems, data storage technologies, networking concepts, and performance optimization at scale.
Familiarity with cloud platforms and infrastructure-as-code, as well as containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Solid understanding of software design patterns, APIs, microservices architecture, and secure software development practices.
Proficiency with testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing), and incident response.
Demonstrated ability to mentor peers, lead technical initiatives, and collaborate effectively in remote, cross-functional teams.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills, with a focus on clear, inclusive collaboration.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience in infrastructure, storage, or CDN platforms is a plus.
