About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our client's team in Durham, NC. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in managing the company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all accounting functions. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a professional with a strong background in bookkeeping and accounting to contribute to a stable and growing organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and supporting financial reporting processes, all while adhering to best practices and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience in a professional setting.
Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms.
Solid understanding of general ledger accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
Experience in processing full-cycle accounts payable and receivable.
Hands-on payroll processing experience, including familiarity with relevant compliance requirements.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard office productivity tools.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Responsibilities
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy across all financial accounts.
Record and post daily financial transactions, keeping books balanced and up to date.
Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice management and payment tracking.
Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a regular basis to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Administer payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation.
Prepare and assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.
Generate financial reports and summaries to support management decision-making.
Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records in a timely manner, maintaining data integrity.
