IT Systems Administrator

Role Description The IT Systems Administrator role at iHR Active is a part-time remote position responsible for maintaining and supporting the company’s core IT infrastructure. Day-to-day activities include managing servers, user accounts, and cloud-based tools, as well as monitoring system performance, backups, and security controls. The role involves providing technical support to team members, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues, and escalating complex problems when necessary. The IT Systems Administrator will also assist in network configuration, updating systems and applications, documenting procedures, and recommending improvements to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient IT operations across the organization.
Qualifications
Strong System Administration skills, including managing servers, user accounts, backups, and security settings.
Solid Network Administration skills, such as configuring routers, switches, VPNs, and monitoring network performance.
Proficiency in Technical Support and Troubleshooting to resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a timely manner.
Broad Information Technology knowledge, including operating systems, cloud platforms, productivity tools, and endpoint security.
Experience with remote work tools, collaboration platforms, and ticketing or help desk systems.
Relevant certification or training (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft or Linux administration) is an advantage.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a distributed team environment.
Prior experience supporting small or growing organizations, preferably in consulting or professional services, is beneficial.
