Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled IBM Mainframe Developer to design, develop, enhance, test, and support critical mainframe applications using COBOL, IBM DB2, and JCL. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), database technologies, batch processing, and production support. Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Gemini is also required to improve development efficiency and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze business and technical requirements and design effective mainframe solutions.
Develop, enhance, test, and implement applications using COBOL, DB2, and JCL.
Maintain and optimize existing mainframe applications to ensure performance and reliability.
Analyze and execute DB2 SQL queries for data retrieval, validation, and processing.
Support batch processing, file handling, and job scheduling using CA7.
Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Support application deployments and ensure smooth production operations.
Follow established SDLC processes, coding standards, and quality practices.
Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Gemini.
Collaborate with technical teams and business stakeholders to resolve application issues and deliver enhancements.
Required Skills And Qualifications
5+ years of experience as an IBM Mainframe Developer.
Strong understanding of SDLC processes.
Expert-level proficiency in COBOL.
Expert-level proficiency in IBM DB2 and SQL.
Expert-level proficiency in JCL.
Experience in production support and resolving critical application issues.
Experience with files, batch processing, and CA7 job scheduling.
Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot and Gemini.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with automation tools and techniques.
Familiarity with batch job scheduling, monitoring, and optimization.
Ability to work effectively in a remote environment and collaborate with distributed teams.
