About the Client: The client is a leading Data Science and AI consulting firm based in Japan. They specialise in providing advanced analytics, machine learning, and big data solutions to help enterprises drive digital transformation. To support their growing project pipeline, they are building a dedicated remote engineering squad (5-10 members) based in Vietnam.
1. Job Description
Location: 100% Remote (Based in Vietnam)
Team Size: 5-10 members
Term of Engagement: 6 months
Role Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled and bilingual Databricks Team Leader to head a newly formed remote engineering team in Vietnam. You will bridge Japanese stakeholders and the local engineering team, leading the design, development, and delivery of advanced data and AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a remote team of 5-10 data engineers and AI developers.
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for the Japanese client, ensuring clear translation of business requirements into technical architecture.
Technical Direction: Architect, design, and oversee the implementation of scalable data pipelines and AI infrastructures using Databricks.
Project Delivery: Manage project timelines, assign tasks, ensure code quality, and lead Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
Technology Integration: Guide the team in adopting modern LLM and AI frameworks (including Dify and NVIDIA NeMo) to meet client demands.
Experience with LLM application builders like Dify (dify.ai).
Familiarity with generative AI and LLM frameworks, particularly NVIDIA NeMo.
Must-Have Requirements:
Language Skills: Excellent communication skills in Japanese (equivalent to JLPT N2 or N1) to effectively communicate with stakeholders in Japan.
Certification: Must hold a valid Databricks Certification (e.g., Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional or similar).
Experience: Proven experience in data engineering, big data technologies, and building data pipelines on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Leadership: Prior experience leading or managing technical teams.
