An architect who designs from principles and the real context, not from the textbook pattern. Translates programme goals into designs detailed enough for engineers to build from; and can explain and defend the trade-offs accepted. Has a strong grounding in infrastructure-as-code and DevOps, with Terraform and GitHub. Takes a security-first, zero-trust approach. Works with principals and with the security and enterprise architecture review process and listens for the real concern behind an objection. Remains engaged through delivery, owning the sequencing and handover into the team’s workflow. Treats documentation as part of the definition of done; and builds the team’s capability instead of creating dependence on themselves.
Azure variant: design depth across Azure and Kubernetes.
Snowflake variant: design depth across the Snowflake data platform.
Requirements – Snowflake Analytics Platform / Cloud Engineering
Cloud & Data Platform Experience: Experience in cloud engineering and building/foundation work for data platforms.
Core Technologies: Hands-on experience with Snowflake and Dagster.
Architecture & Repository Management: Experience designing and managing end-to-end repositories for analytics platforms.
Security & Access Control: Understanding of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), environment-level access restrictions, and Production/UAT separation.
Platform Understanding: Experience supporting backend data platforms for external, client-facing products and services.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with SRE, Data, and Product Engineering teams.
Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to handle difficult stakeholders and challenging discussions without being intimidated.
Transformation Programme Exposure: Experience contributing to large-scale, cross-functional transformation initiatives is desirable, as the candidate may support Fastmarkets’ upcoming organisation-wide transformation programme.
