About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Pipeline Designer with strong expertise in 2D drafting using AutoCAD for Oil & Gas pipeline engineering projects. The candidate should have hands-on experience in preparing pipeline drawings, layouts, alignment sheets, and detailed engineering deliverables in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
The job description (Designer):
Pipeline Designer - More than 15 years of experience in Onshore pipelines.
Working within the pipeline design team on onshore pipeline projects and ensuring Pipeline design integrity is not compromised while managing the execution of the project.
Experience in working on onshore pipeline design activities such as:
Experience in FEED & detailed engineering projects for Onshore oil & gas flowlines, trunk lines, and pipelines,
Experience in Pipeline Route selection studies as per international codes and standards.
Able to read, review, analysis and apply Site Topographical Survey details/ data into drawing.
Develop Overall Route Maps and Layouts/ Schematic and Pipeline Alignment sheets.
Develop Scraper trap stations approach drawings, Pipeline crossing drawings, and Pipeline HDD drawings.
Develop Typical Crossing drawings for Highways, Asphalt Roads, Railways, Water /Wadis, Third Party Pipelines, cables and Overhead Power Lines
Develop Hot Tap layouts, Sectionalizing valve station Layouts, Tie-in sections, and details.
Develop detailed drawings for crossings with trenchless technologies.
Develop master crossing schedule/ crossing list
Understand Pipeline detail engineering standards, including spacing requirements, accessibility, operation, maintenance, crossings, and right of way (ROW) and the relevant International Standards, and able to learn and understand client’s standards and specifications.
Verify that all designs are to the required standards and that the objectives of the project are met.
Develop Isometrics, General Arrangement Drawings, Key plans, and Plot Plans.
Must have the ability to prepare engineering deliverables as per company technical competency standards Software Knowledge (Discipline Specific): MS Office, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, QGIS, and Google Earth.
Qualifications
Diploma / ITI / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or a relevant engineering discipline.
Required Skills
8 to 15+ years of experience in pipeline design, preferably in Oil & Gas projects.
Strong hands-on proficiency in AutoCAD – Mandatory.
Experience preparing pipeline alignment sheets, route maps, crossing details, and engineering layouts.
Good understanding of onshore pipeline engineering drawings and drafting standards.
Knowledge of pipeline components, fittings, valves, and associated infrastructure.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, survey inputs, and engineering documentation.
Experience in Oil & Gas EPC or engineering consultancy projects is preferred.
Preferred Skills
Experience working on international Oil & Gas pipeline projects.
Familiarity with ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, and applicable project standards.
Basic knowledge of GIS / ArcGIS and pipeline route mapping.
Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
