Operations Manager

Company Description MITTI Café is a non-profit organization that creates livelihood opportunities and experiential training for adults with physical, intellectual, and psychiatric disabilities through a chain of inclusive cafes. With over 40 cafes across locations such as the Supreme Court, major corporate offices, universities, and airports in cities including Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Lucknow, MITTI Café’s teams have served more than 10 million meals and beverages. The organization also runs MITTI Karuna Meals, providing food to economically vulnerable families, and MITTI Good Gifts, a platform that promotes products made by NGOs and social enterprises from marginalized communities. Over 4 million compassion meals have been served and more than 150,000 gifts shipped worldwide to leading companies. MITTI has been recognized with multiple national and international awards for its social impact and innovation.
Role Description The Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Navi Mumbai, responsible for overseeing daily operations across designated MITTI Café locations. The role includes managing café performance, staffing schedules, inventory, quality standards, and compliance with health and safety protocols. The Operations Manager will coordinate with training teams to ensure smooth experiential training for adults with disabilities, support implementation of livelihood programs, and track operational metrics. This role involves supervising and mentoring team members, resolving operational issues, optimizing processes, and supporting partnerships with corporate and institutional stakeholders. The Operations Manager will also contribute to budgeting, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with MITTI Café’s mission.
Qualifications
Operational management skills, including experience in supervising daily site operations, managing teams, and coordinating multiple locations.
Process and performance management skills, such as workflow optimization, quality control, and use of basic data and reports for decision-making.
People management and leadership skills, including team mentoring, conflict resolution, and fostering an inclusive, respectful work environment.
Stakeholder and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, partners, and institutional or corporate clients.
Basic financial and administrative skills, including budgeting support, cost control, and adherence to organizational policies and documentation standards.
Ability to work on-site in Navi Mumbai, with strong organizational skills, reliability, and a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Prior experience in hospitality, food services, retail operations, or social impact organizations is highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s degree in Management, Hospitality, Social Work, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
