The Global Finance Transformation team drives technology-enabled transformation across Finance and Accounting, working across three core areas: Functional Systems Administration, Business Process Management and Portfolio Management.
We’re looking for a Project Manager to lead our Portfolio Management capability, bringing structure, governance and delivery oversight across the Global Finance Transformation portfolio.
You’ll work closely with our global Finance and Accounting leaders, technology teams and other cross-functional partners to turn strategic priorities into well-planned and effectively delivered transformation initiatives. This role would suit someone with strong technical programme and project management experience within finance who is comfortable working across enterprise systems, business processes and complex stakeholder groups.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract role.
What You’ll Do
Manage and coordinate the Global Finance Transformation portfolio, maintaining clear visibility of project priorities, timelines, dependencies, resources, risks, capacity and overall progress.
Establish and maintain consistent approaches to project intake, prioritisation, planning and governance, translating strategic priorities into practical project plans, timelines and roadmaps.
Coordinate Finance projects and transformation initiatives, working closely with Finance, Accounting and technology teams to ensure clear project requirements, responsibilities, milestones and deliverables are in place.
Build effective project governance, including integrated project plans, portfolio reporting, RAID and action logs, steering meetings and executive updates, while ensuring risks, dependencies and decisions are identified and addressed early. Organise project meetings, prepare agendas, document key decisions and proactively follow up on actions to keep projects on track.
Partner with Functional Systems Administration, Business Process Management and other stakeholders to align scope and priorities, support business process improvements, coordinate stakeholder communications, manage dependencies and continuously improve how transformation initiatives are planned and delivered..
What We’re Looking For
5+ years’ project management experience, combined with a strong understanding of Finance and Accounting processes, gained through working within Finance functions or delivering Finance-related projects.
Qualified or part-qualified accountant, with a recognised professional accounting qualification or progress towards one would be beneficial but not mandatory.
Experience managing several concurrent, cross-functional initiatives and establishing effective portfolio or project governance, including planning, prioritisation, dependency management, risk management and leadership reporting.
A good understanding of enterprise systems and Finance processes, with experience coordinating projects involving business requirements, process improvements, systems changes and cross-functional stakeholders.
Strong stakeholder management, communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to explain progress, risks, dependencies, trade-offs and decisions clearly to audiences ranging from project teams to senior leaders.
Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to managing project plans, coordinating meetings, tracking actions and ensuring deadlines are met.
Prior experience working with ERP systems. Workday experience would be beneficial but not essential.
PRINCE2 certification, or an equivalent recognised project or programme management qualification, is desirable.
Ability to work from both our Aldwych House and Orpington offices each week, spending at least one day per week in each location, with a minimum of three office days per week.
