Role Description The Application Integration Engineer (Volunteer) will design, build, and maintain integrations between Vibesmeet’s applications, services, and third-party platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing integration requirements, implementing APIs and data flows, configuring middleware or integration tools, and ensuring that systems communicate reliably and securely. The role involves diagnosing integration issues, performing root-cause analysis, and collaborating with software developers and systems engineers to improve overall architecture and performance. The engineer will document integration specifications, monitor system behavior, and propose enhancements to streamline workflows and user experiences. This is a volunteer, hybrid role based in Accra, with the flexibility to perform part of the work from home while attending occasional in-person meetings and collaboration sessions.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills and proficiency in Troubleshooting complex system and integration issues.
Candidates should possess Software Development skills, including experience with relevant programming languages, APIs, and version control.
Candidates should possess Integration skills, with knowledge of data exchange formats, API design, and integration frameworks or middleware.
Candidates should possess Systems Engineering skills, including understanding of system architecture, networking basics, and performance considerations.
Familiarity with RESTful services, web technologies, and cloud-based environments is beneficial.
Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team.
Relevant education or training in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is advantageous, though equivalent practical experience is also valued.
Self-motivation, reliability, and the ability to manage time effectively in a volunteer, hybrid work setting.
