About the Role
We are looking for a Software Test Engineer with 3–5 years of experience across manual, automation, API, mobile, and performance testing. You will own the quality of our web, mobile, and AI-driven products end to end, from requirement reviews to release sign-off, and help us build reliable automation that runs as part of our CI/CD pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
• Review requirements and user stories early (shift-left), and design test strategies, test plans, and test cases for new features and releases.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and non-functional testing across web and mobile applications.
• Build, maintain, and scale UI automation frameworks for web (Selenium and/or Playwright) and mobile (Appium) applications.
• Test native Android and iOS apps on real devices, emulators/simulators, and cloud device farms, covering OS versions, screen sizes, and network conditions.
• Design and automate API test suites (Postman, REST Assured, or Python-based frameworks) and validate backend data using SQL.
• Plan and execute performance, load, and stress tests using JMeter (or k6), and analyse results to identify bottlenecks.
• Test AI/ML-driven features, such as email classification and quote extraction, by validating output accuracy against expected datasets and checking for regressions when models or prompts change.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI) and keep them stable and fast.
• Log, track, and verify defects in Jira; publish clear test reports and quality metrics for each release.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and the AI/ML team, and mentor junior QA team members where needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Education: B.Tech / B.E. / MCA / B.Sc (IT/CS) or equivalent.
• Manual Testing: Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum, test design techniques, and the defect lifecycle.
• Web Automation: Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and/or Playwright, using TestNG, JUnit, or pytest.
• Mobile Testing: Hands-on experience testing native Android and iOS applications, including automation with Appium and familiarity with Android Studio and Xcode tooling.
• Programming: Good working knowledge of Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript for writing maintainable test code.
• API Testing: Experience testing REST APIs with Postman and automating them with REST Assured or a similar framework.
• Performance Testing: Practical experience with Apache JMeter for load, stress, and endurance testing.
• Database: Ability to write SQL queries for backend data validation.
• CI/CD & Version Control: Experience running automated tests in CI/CD pipelines, and working proficiency with Git.
• Tools: Jira or a similar defect and test management tool.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ownership, and clear written and verbal communication.
Good to Have
• Exposure to testing AI/ML or LLM-based features (data-driven validation, accuracy benchmarking, handling non-deterministic outputs).
• Experience with cloud device farms such as BrowserStack, LambdaTest, or Firebase Test Lab.
• Familiarity with Docker and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience using AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to speed up test creation.
• Basic security testing awareness (OWASP Top 10) and mobile app store release processes.
• Domain knowledge of logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain.
• ISTQB or equivalent testing certification.
