Freelance Software Engineer – AI Agents, Remote

This is a remote contract opportunity for an experienced software engineer to design, build, and maintain robust full-stack applications. The role focuses on developing scalable backend services and responsive user interfaces using Python, Django, Flask, React, and PostgreSQL. You will be responsible for integrating advanced AI models and services into product features, including the development and extension of AI agents that leverage external APIs, application data, and tool integrations. The position requires a proactive approach to technical design, production support, and continuous improvement of system reliability, security, and performance. Collaboration with cross-functional teams on architecture, code reviews, and mentoring is essential.
Responsibilities
Architect, develop, and maintain full-stack applications with Python, Django, Flask, React, and PostgreSQL
Integrate AI models and services into product workflows and features
Develop and extend AI agents utilizing LLM APIs, tool calling, RAG, agent orchestration, and AI output evaluation
Design and optimize database schemas, migrations, and queries
Ensure high standards of reliability, security, and performance across systems
Implement automated testing, error handling, and technical documentation
Collaborate on system architecture, participate in code reviews, and mentor team members
Work with REST APIs, authentication, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms, and production monitoring tools
Skills And Requirements
Senior-level experience in Python, Django, Flask, React, and PostgreSQL
Proven expertise in integrating and deploying AI models and services
Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, agent orchestration, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
Strong understanding of backend and frontend development best practices
Proficiency in REST API design, authentication, and security protocols
Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and production monitoring
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
Must be physically located in the United States and authorized to work without employer sponsorship
Availability for a full-time contract commitment
