Summary
Job Summary (Domain Architect Payment Systems, Fully Remote)
Lead domain architecture: Own and define the architecture, technical roadmap, and decision-making for the payment systems domain.
Hands-on technical expertise: Build and maintain high-level payment systems using C#/.Net 8 (must be currently hands-on), Azure PaaS, and Kafka in production.
Design & workflow orchestration: Architect complex payment workflows, ensuring idempotency, durability, and compliance (including EBT SNAP/WIC rules and PCI DSS).
API & messaging standards: Define and manage API/event contracts, schema governance, durable workflows, and cross-domain communication (OpenAPI, JSON Schema, Protobuf, Kafka, Temporal).
Payment processing leadership: Oversee payment lifecycle operations (create, edit, refund, multi-tender orchestration), new tender integrations (Apple Pay, Google Pay), and 3rd-party marketplace payments.
Reliability & compliance: Ensure robustness, error handling, and auditing with retry policies, encryption, key rotation, and compliance with financial and governmental standards.
Quality assurance: Set and enforce testing strategies (unit, contract, load), SLOs (auth, capture, refund rates), and tracing/instrumentation across services.
Mentorship & migration: Mentor senior engineers, review code, and lead migrations from legacy platforms, leveraging AI tools for delivery speed.
