About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Role Objective
Own and drive the product experience of the Phillip Capital App as a hands-on trader and investor first. Use your own live trading and investing across brokers’ apps to benchmark competition, test every feature for real-world usability, and shape a customer experience that makes life measurably easier for traders and investors – driving adoption, volumes, brokerage revenue, and customer delight.
Key Responsibilities
Trader-Led Product Ownership: Use the P9 app and competing apps daily as an active trader and investor; experience every journey first-hand – login, onboarding, funds, order placement, positions, and exits – and turn your own friction points into product priorities.
Competition Teardown & Feature Usability: Hands-on analysis of all competing broking and trading apps (top brokers and emerging fintech’s); go beyond feature checklists to test how each feature actually works in live market conditions, rate its usability, and recommend whether to build, improve, or skip before any feature is built.
Customer Experience Obsession: Champion simplicity, speed, and clarity across the app; map end-to-end journeys across cash, futures & options, and mutual funds; remove friction, reduce taps and clicks, and ensure traders can act quickly and confidently during volatile markets.
Trader & Investor Workflow Design: Understand what active traders (options, intraday, F&O) and long-term investors need – charts, option chain, basket and bracket orders, watchlists, alerts, positions and P&L views, portfolio analytics, SIPs – and design workflows that save time and reduce errors.
Product Lifecycle Management: Own product vision, roadmap, and backlog; prioritize using RICE and MoSCoW; write user stories and acceptance criteria that reflect real trading scenarios.
Customer Feedback & Ratings: Monitor app ratings, reviews, and social/trader community feedback; speak regularly with active traders and investors; drive initiatives to improve satisfaction and NPS.
Usage & Revenue Metrics: Own key metrics – active traders, orders per user, activation, retention, and brokerage generated; publish regularly to management with insights and actions.
Feature Validation & Testing: Personally test new features and releases on live devices before go-live; define acceptance criteria and test cases; collaborate with QA on defect resolution; sign off only when the experience meets trader expectations.
Performance & Error Monitoring: Monitor app speed, stability, and order execution experience, especially during peak market hours; track and resolve critical errors (login, order placement, transactions) with engineering using proactive monitoring tools.
A/B Testing & Data-Driven Decisions: Run experiments on new features and UI/UX; combine behavioural analytics with first-hand trader insight to drive evidence-based decisions on adoption and ROI.
Digital Asset Parity & Device Testing: Maintain parity across app, web, and desktop; test across iOS/Android versions and devices, including low-end phones and varying network conditions.
Compliance, Security & Data Privacy: Work with risk, compliance, and InfoSec to ensure all features meet SEBI/RBI and data privacy requirements before release.
Innovation & Emerging Tech: Explore AI/ML, personalization, smart alerts, and insight tools that genuinely help traders and investors decide better; evaluate fintech partnerships.
Stakeholder Communication: Act as the voice of the trader and investor within the organization; align engineering, design, marketing, compliance, and business teams around a clear product vision and KPIs.
Required Skills & Experience
-6–10 years in digital product management or ownership roles, with proven hands-on experience in mobile apps (iOS/Android), preferably in broking, trading, or fintech. Active trader and investor with own live trading experience in equities, derivatives, and/or mutual funds, and familiarity with multiple broking apps as a user. Strong understanding of capital markets, trading platforms, order types, and F&O. -------Demonstrated customer-first mindset with strong UX sensibility and a track record in journey design, competitor benchmarking, usability testing, and A/B testing. Experience with RICE/MoSCoW, Agile methodologies, performance monitoring, and security and accessibility standards. Analytical mindset with strong stakeholder management skills.
Good to Have
NISM certifications (Series VIII or similar); experience with charting, option chain, or algo/API trading; exposure to analytics tools (Mixpanel, CleverTap, Firebase); personal following or content on markets or trading communities.
