IT Equipment Specialist

Role Description The IT Equipment Specialist is a part-time remote role responsible for supporting the firm’s technology infrastructure and equipment needs. This role includes configuring, deploying, and maintaining computers, peripherals, and network devices used by team members across locations. The specialist will diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues, ensuring minimal disruption to daily legal operations. Additional tasks include monitoring network performance, maintaining security best practices, documenting configurations and procedures, and providing responsive, user-focused support to legal and administrative staff.
Qualifications
Strong Information Technology and Troubleshooting skills to install, configure, and maintain IT equipment and systems
Experience with Network Administration and Network Security to support reliable and secure connectivity
Customer Service skills to provide clear, patient, and effective technical support to users at different technical levels
Familiarity with remote support tools, ticketing systems, and basic IT asset management
Ability to work independently, manage part-time hours effectively, and prioritize multiple support requests
Relevant certification or coursework in IT, computer science, or related fields (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent) is beneficial
Experience supporting professional services or law firm environments is an advantage
