We are looking for an Interactive Build/Release/DevOps Engineer responsible for managing the release pipeline and directly supporting development and content teams that create and publish content to one of Apple’s most trafficked websites.
The ideal candidate has prior experience in build and release engineering, strong communication skills, hands-on experience in both DevOps and software development, and the ability to handle unexpected challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Scope of Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop and automate workflows using Declarative and Scripted Jenkins Pipelines.
* Manage and administer source control management (SCM) systems such as Git and SVN.
* Write scripts using Python and Bash; experience with Groovy or Go is a plus.
* Support Node.js, JavaScript, Java, and Scala development.
* Build and maintain microservices and automated workflows using Python, Go, or Node.js.
* Manage and configure web servers such as Apache and Nginx.
* Manage CI/CD pipelines, build processes, deployments, and release activities.
* Work with Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, and other configuration management or orchestration technologies.
* Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot complex build, deployment, and operational issues.
* Support application deployment, performance, monitoring, reliability, and scalability.
* Ensure web application security, including SSL configuration.
* Diagnose and resolve critical issues while managing multiple releases and tight deadlines.
Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
* Minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience working on complex development projects.
* Hands-on experience in both DevOps engineering and software development.
* Strong practical experience with Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
* Experience developing microservices and workflows using Python, Go, or Node.js.
* In-depth knowledge of Git, SVN, or other source control systems.
* Experience with Linux, CI/CD methodologies, build tools, logging, and monitoring systems.
* Experience managing web servers and application deployments.
Proven Skills and Abilities
* Strong understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) methodologies.
* Ability to diagnose and debug complex systems and resolve build, deployment, and operational issues.
* Experience working with containerization, orchestration, and configuration management tools.
* Ability to accurately estimate technical effort and prioritize multiple releases.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative under pressure.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with both creative and technical teams.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse teams
