Electrical Site Engineer - MEP

About the Role:
Jumbo Stores is looking for a hands-on and detail-oriented Electrical Site Engineer – MEP to manage electrical, HVAC, and MEP execution for greenfield store projects. The role will focus on site quality, ensuring work is carried out as per approved drawings and specifications, and coordinating between consultants, vendors, contractors, and internal teams to deliver projects safely, on time, and to the required standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Execution & Quality Control
● Supervise electrical, HVAC, and MEP works on site and ensure execution as per approved drawings, technical specifications, BOQs, and quality standards.
● Conduct regular site inspections to verify workmanship, installation quality, materials, and compliance with approved scope.
● Identify deviations, drawing discrepancies, design clashes, and defective work; coordinate corrective actions before proceeding with subsequent activities.
● Maintain site inspection reports, quality checklists, snag lists, and closure records.
Electrical, HVAC & MEP Coordination
● Coordinate electrical installations, including panels, cabling, lighting, earthing, and power distribution.
● Coordinate HVAC systems, including air conditioning, ventilation, ducting, fresh-air systems, and exhaust systems.
● Coordinate with plumbing, drainage, firefighting, civil, kitchen equipment, and other building-services teams to resolve site issues.
● Review electrical, HVAC, and MEP drawings; identify clashes and obtain technical clarifications or approvals from consultants.
Consultant, Vendor & Contractor Management
● Act as the key coordination point between consultants, vendors, contractors, and internal project teams.
● Ensure vendors and contractors execute work as per approved drawings, specifications, agreed scope, and project timelines.
● Follow up on technical queries, drawing approvals, material submittals, and pending decisions to avoid execution delays.
● Monitor vendor workmanship, manpower deployment, site progress, and adherence to safety and quality requirements.
Greenfield Project Execution
● Coordinate electrical and MEP works from site readiness and installation through testing, commissioning, snag closure, and store handover.
● Coordinate with civil teams to confirm work-front readiness and sequencing of activities.
● Track site progress, material availability, manpower, and project dependencies; escalate risks and delays proactively.
● Support final inspections and ensure systems are ready for operational handover.
Commercials & Documentation
● Verify BOQs, material quantities, site measurements, and contractor bills against approved scope and actual work completed.
● Track material consumption, site inventory, and material reconciliation.
● Maintain daily progress reports, drawing revision records, as-built drawings, testing reports, warranties, and handover documentation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
● 4–6 years of relevant experience in electrical site execution and MEP coordination.
● Strong working knowledge of HVAC systems and commercial electrical installations.
● Hands-on experience in greenfield projects; experience in retail stores, commercial buildings, restaurants, QSRs, or large-format stores is preferred.
● Ability to read and interpret electrical, HVAC, and MEP drawings and technical specifications.
● Experience in site quality inspections, consultant/vendor coordination, contractor management, BOQ verification, and material tracking.
