SAP Technical Consultant (ABAP with FICO) – S/4HANA

About the Role
Position Overview
CVS Health is seeking an experienced SAP FICO Technical Consultant with strong expertise in SAP Finance and Controlling (FI/CO), Profit & Loss (P&L) reporting, SAP S/4HANA, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of SAP technical capabilities and financial business process knowledge, with particular emphasis on financial reporting, profitability analysis, general ledger accounting, and cloud-based data integration.
This individual will work closely with Finance, Accounting, SAP technical teams, and enterprise data teams to support financial transformation initiatives, optimize SAP financial processes, and enable accurate financial reporting across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
SAP FICO & Financial Reporting
Design, develop, configure, and support SAP FICO solutions within an SAP S/4HANA environment.
Support financial processes involving Profit & Loss (P&L), General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Cost Center Accounting, and Profit Center Accounting.
Develop and enhance P&L reporting solutions to support financial analysis, expense tracking, revenue reporting, and profitability insights.
Work with Finance stakeholders to translate financial reporting requirements into technical SAP solutions.
Support SAP Controlling (CO) functionality, including profitability analysis (CO-PA), cost allocations, and financial planning.
Ensure accurate financial data reconciliation between SAP and downstream reporting platforms.
SAP S/4HANA Technical Expertise
Provide hands-on technical support for SAP S/4HANA Finance applications and integrations.
Work with S/4HANA financial data structures, including Universal Journal (ACDOCA), to support financial reporting and analytics.
Develop, enhance, and troubleshoot SAP technical objects, reports, interfaces, and data extraction processes.
Collaborate with SAP functional and development teams on enhancements, system integrations, and performance optimization.
Support SAP data models, CDS Views, APIs, and other integration technologies used for financial reporting.
Google Cloud Platform (GCP) & Data Integration
Support integration of SAP S/4HANA financial data with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Work with GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and cloud-based data pipelines to enable enterprise financial reporting.
Collaborate with cloud engineering and data teams to design scalable SAP-to-GCP data integration solutions.
Support extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL/ELT) of financial data from SAP into cloud-based analytical environments.
Troubleshoot data integration issues and ensure financial data accuracy, consistency, and availability.
Assist with cloud-based reporting and analytics initiatives involving SAP financial data.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of SAP experience, with strong specialization in SAP FICO and financial reporting.
Hands-on experience working with SAP S/4HANA Finance.
Strong understanding of Profit & Loss (P&L) reporting, including revenue, expenses, cost centers, profit centers, and profitability analysis.
Experience with SAP FI/CO modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Controlling.
Technical experience with SAP financial data extraction, reporting, interfaces, and integrations.
Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) in connection with SAP data or enterprise financial reporting.
Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA data models, Universal Journal (ACDOCA), and CDS Views.
Strong SQL skills and experience working with large financial datasets.
Ability to collaborate effectively with Finance, Accounting, SAP functional teams, and cloud engineering teams.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with GCP BigQuery for financial data analytics and reporting.
Experience with SAP ABAP development, debugging, or technical enhancements.
Knowledge of SAP BTP, SAP Integration Suite, or SAP Cloud Integration (CPI).
Experience with SAP CO-PA and margin or profitability reporting.
Experience with SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), or other enterprise reporting solutions.
Experience supporting SAP financial transformation or S/4HANA migration initiatives.
Familiarity with Python, SQL-based data transformation, or cloud ETL frameworks.
Experience working within large, complex enterprise environments, preferably healthcare, insurance, or financial services.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a technically strong SAP FICO consultant with deep financial reporting knowledge, particularly around P&L and profitability analysis.
This is not a purely functional SAP FICO position. The consultant must understand financial accounting processes while also possessing the technical expertise to support S/4HANA financial data, integrations, and GCP-based reporting solutions.
