About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Ready for your next move in hospitality management?
Artesian Hospitality is looking for experienced Venue Managers and Assistant Venue Managers to join our leadership team across our Surfers Paradise portfolio.
We're home to some of the Gold Coast's most recognised hospitality and entertainment venues, spanning high-volume nightlife, rooftop entertainment, pubs, restaurants and bars.
Our Surfers Paradise portfolio includes:
Cali Beach Club – Australia's largest rooftop beach club
Fig 'n Fox – a modern British pub in the heart of Surfers Paradise
Bedroom Lounge Bar – one of the Gold Coast's most iconic late-night venues
Havana RnB Nightclub – dedicated R&B and hip-hop nightlife
Tempo – an intimate late-night bar and entertainment venue
With such a diverse portfolio, we're not necessarily looking for one particular type of hospitality manager. We're looking for great operators and will consider where your experience, strengths and leadership style are best suited.
Whether you're an established Venue Manager looking for your next challenge or an experienced Assistant Manager ready to take the next step, we'd love to hear from you.
The Role
Working closely with our senior operations team, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day operation of your venue and play an important role in its overall performance, culture and guest experience. Depending on your role and venue, your responsibilities will include:
Leading, developing and motivating a high-performing venue team
Managing day-to-day operations and maintaining strong service standards
Being a visible, hands-on leader during key trading periods
Creating a positive culture of accountability, professionalism and teamwork
Delivering exceptional guest experiences
Managing rosters, labour and wage performance
Monitoring sales, costs and key venue performance indicators
Maintaining strong RSA, licensing, WHS and operational compliance
Supporting recruitment, onboarding, training and performance management
Managing stock, cash handling and operational controls
Working closely with security, entertainment, marketing, sales and other departments
Identifying opportunities to improve venue performance, service and profitability
About You
First and foremost, we're looking for hospitality leaders who take ownership, care about their teams and know how to run a great service.
You'll ideally bring:
Previous management experience within hospitality, bars, pubs, restaurants or nightlife
Strong people leadership and communication skills
Experience working in a fast-paced or high-volume environment
A good understanding of rostering, wages and venue financial performance
Strong operational and compliance standards
Current Queensland RSA
Confidence managing difficult situations and making sound decisions during service
A hands-on leadership style and willingness to lead from the floor
A genuine interest in developing people and building a strong venue culture
High-volume and late-night experience will be highly regarded for some of our venues, but our portfolio is diverse. We're equally interested in strong operators from restaurant, pub and bar backgrounds.
A current First Aid Certificate, RMLV and Approved Manager is highly regarded, but they aren't essential at the time of application.
Please note for the right candidate, we're happy to support you in obtaining the relevant qualifications and accreditations required for your role.
The Benefits
Joining Artesian means becoming part of a larger hospitality group where your career doesn't have to stop at one venue.
As our venues and people continue to develop, there are opportunities to progress into larger venues, experience different concepts and move into more senior operational roles across the group.
You'll also enjoy:
Performance-based bonus opportunity of $21,000–$42,000 per annum, depending on the management position
50% staff discount across Artesian Hospitality venues
Genuine career progression across multiple venues and concepts
Support from an experienced senior operations team
Training and professional development opportunities
Support in obtaining relevant industry qualifications and accreditations
The opportunity to work within some of the Gold Coast's most recognised hospitality and entertainment venues
A fast-paced environment where capable managers are trusted with responsibility and given the opportunity to make an impact
