Saint Patrick Catholic School is currently seeking daily substitute teachers for the 2025-2026 school year in grades pre-kindergarten through 8th grade.

Saint Patrick Catholic School, located in Norfolk, Virginia, is an independent Catholic school with an enrollment of approximately 400 students in grades pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. With a mission to educate and nurture the whole child - mind, body, and spirit - to be a Christ-centered, compassionate, and courageous servant leader, the staff embraces cognitive psychology expressed by Dr. William Glasser to create a positive, internally motivating learning environment.

Collaborate with faculty, staff and students to establish servant leadership opportunities
Promote a culture of respect for all members of the community
Responsibilities
Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while regular teacher is absent
Review and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives
Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
Perform other duties as directed by school administration
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of child development, content expertise, and curriculum and policies; commitment to the belief that all students can learn characterized by appropriate management strategies that meet the needs of students; and instructional techniques that integrate reading, writing, math, faith, and technology throughout the content areas
Experience with classroom management
Ability to transition from task to task easily
Effectively communicate with students and staff
Committed to serving as a role model for students
Experience teaching or working with digital technologies in the classroom is a plus
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or higher in the applicable field of education (preferred)
1 year of related experience and/or training (preferred)
