Construction Intern

Key Duties & Responsibilities
The Construction Intern will play a key role in assisting our Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents and Estimators to ensure that a full range of construction activities are completed successfully and efficiently.
May assist Superintendents, Project Managers, Engineers, and Coordinators with project-related technical and logistical functions. Includes subcontractor and supplier planning/administration, work assignments, etc.
Assist in the coordination of on-site construction and engineering activities for construction projects.
Interpret design/drawings, specifications, submittals, and other construction documents.
Interface with on-site departments as required to resolve problems, ensure quality of construction, etc. in support of overall project schedule.
Qualifications
Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field
Familiarity with construction practices and project management concepts
Strong academic record with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Strong interest in construction, engineering, and infrastructure projects
Conscientious self-starter with good organizational skills, project management skills and attention to detail
Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities, must be able to multi-task
Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams
Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability and willingness to learn
Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
Work Environment & Physical Demands (may vary by assignment)
May perform a great deal of reaching, bending, balancing, kneeling, crawling, turning & twisting (180 degrees)
May walk, sit, stand and bend during the course of a workday
Ability to traverse uneven ground
Work in weather conditions common to this area including heat, cold, rain and snow
May work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, perform sustained manual activities at low to moderate levels of exertion.
This is a 12+ week paid internship for the summer, generally starting in Mid-May and ending in Mid-August.
