Maintenance Technician
Good People. Useful Skills. Room to Grow.
Spring Creek, Nevada | Full-Time | $25–$33 per hour, based on experience
You should like the people you spend your workday with. You should also get to go home knowing you accomplished something besides getting older.
At Mustang Transportation, we’re building a team where people help each other, take pride in their work, and can enjoy the day while getting the job done. We’re growing our Nevada operation, building a brand-new maintenance shop, and looking for a Maintenance Technician who wants to grow with us.
If you have mechanical experience, enjoy figuring things out, and want to build your skills alongside experienced technicians, we’d like to meet you. Experience with automotive, diesel, farm equipment, trucks, or other machinery can be a good starting point.
You don’t need to know everything on your first day. We do want someone who asks questions, pays attention, and cares whether the job is done right. Knowing when to ask for help is a skill, too.
A Team Worth Bringing Your Toolbox To
A good shop takes more than equipment. It takes people who share what they know, communicate when something changes, and lend a hand when someone needs one.
That’s the kind of team we’re working to build.
We offer competitive pay because good work deserves it. We also want Mustang to be a place you choose because you like the people, respect the work, and can see a future here.
A sense of humor is welcome. So is returning the tool you borrowed.
What You’ll Do
Perform preventive maintenance on buses, motor coaches, trucks, and support vehicles, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, and lubrication.
Assist with vehicle inspections, brake inspections, tire maintenance, suspension work, and other repairs.
Work with experienced technicians to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and vehicle performance issues.
Identify and report concerns before they become bigger problems.
Keep accurate maintenance records, work orders, and parts documentation.
Use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and shop equipment safely.
Keep tools and work areas clean, organized, and ready for the next job.
Communicate with technicians, drivers, dispatchers, and operations staff about vehicle needs and availability.
Develop your skills with diesel engines, air brakes, electrical systems, HVAC, suspension, and other commercial vehicle systems.
Follow company safety procedures and applicable DOT requirements.
Assist with roadside breakdowns and emergency maintenance when needed.
What We’re Looking For
Mechanical experience in automotive, diesel, fleet maintenance, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, or a related field.
Comfort using basic hand and power tools.
A willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work safely.
Attention to detail and pride in work you’re willing to put your name on.
Dependability—the team needs to know you’ll be there.
The ability to work independently and ask for help when needed.
Clear communication and a good attitude toward coworkers.
Interest in learning new equipment, systems, and technology.
Helpful Experience and Qualifications
These are advantages, rather than a checklist you must complete before applying:
Experience with buses, trucks, diesel engines, or commercial fleets.
Preventive maintenance experience.
Familiarity with air brakes, electrical systems, or vehicle diagnostics.
Technical training, ASE certifications, or completion of an automotive, diesel, or heavy equipment program.
A Class B CDL or higher, with passenger endorsement and qualifications to operate air-brake-equipped vehicles.
What You’ll Find at Mustang
$25–$33 per hour, based on experience.
Full-time, year-round employment.
A new maintenance shop being built for our growing operation.
Hands-on training alongside experienced technicians.
Opportunities to advance into a higher-level technician role.
Work that matters: keeping the buses reliable for the people who depend on them every day.
Ask Us About the Mustang Way
When we talk, ask us about the Mustang Way and what makes working here different. Ask questions about the shop, the team, and where we’re headed.
We want to learn about you, and you should have a chance to decide whether we’re your kind of people, too.
Ready to bring your mechanical skills somewhere you can keep growing? Apply through this posting.
