About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.
Legacy Paws Rescue is looking for a program development consultant to design an adult workshop series our team can teach and repeat, then hand it off with everything in place. We're building a different kind of rescue, focused on prevention, education, and supporting both ends of the leash. So many dogs end up surrendered because no one showed their people the warning signs or what their dog was trying to say. We want to teach that before it becomes a crisis.
Workshop outlines. Outlines for a short series of workshops, like new dog owner basics, reading body language, and living with a reactive dog. 2. Facilitator guides. Talking points and flow for each workshop so trained volunteers can lead them confidently. 3. Participant handouts. Simple take-home materials for each workshop. 4. Feedback and tracking system. One place to log workshops, attendance, and participant feedback. What "done" looks like All four pieces built, handed off, and walked through with our team. Our team will run a pilot session using the materials, and you'll offer feedback afterward. Timeline: 6 to 8 weeks Tools we use: Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Drive) and Canva. Who we're looking for Someone experienced in curriculum design, adult education, or dog behavior who turns real knowledge into lessons people remember. If you believe the best rescue happens before a dog ever needs saving, we'd love to build something meaningful with you.
LEGACY PAWS RESCUE Mission: At Legacy Paws, our mission is to create a community of kindness through education, prevention, and rescue. We believe the best way to change the lives of dogs is not only to rescue them when they are in crisis, but to help prevent that crisis whenever possible. We educate people about how dogs think, communicate, learn, and experience the world, while providing practical support and resources to help people and dogs succeed together. When rescue is needed, we step in for the dogs who have nowhere else to turn—especially those who are overlooked because of age, medical needs, trauma, or circumstances beyond their control. Everything we do comes back to one belief: Healing and learning happens on both ends of the leash. Rescue isn’t where we end. It’s where we begin.
