About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Position
Drone LMS Project Manager
Company: Apellix
Location: Remote with travel to Jacksonville, FL
Employment Type: Part-time
Reports to: C-Suite
About The Role
Apellix is hiring a Drone LMS Project Manager (Apellix Academy Manager) to own the online training program every new operator must pass before their drone leaves our warehouse.
Apellix builds semi-autonomous drones for power washing, soft washing, spray painting, coatings and NDT inspection. Our drones are 100% U.S.-made, NDAA-compliant, U.S. Army-certified, and flying in 21 countries.
You will run Apellix Academy end to end: building new modules, keeping existing ones current as our products and software change, enrolling and tracking learners, and making sure every buyer is ready for hands-on training. This is a role for someone who has already built drone training content inside an LMS and wants to own a program, not just contribute to one.
What You'll Do
Build new content
Design and produce new Academy modules for each platform (B2, Blue, SPD, SPD Blue, NDT).
Write scripts, storyboards, quizzes and assessments; shoot and edit video, screen recordings and walkthroughs with our engineering and production teams.
Turn technical material from engineers into clear, practical lessons for non-aviator operators.
Maintain and improve the program
Edit and update existing modules whenever hardware, firmware, software or procedures change, and retire outdated content.
Use completion rates, quiz results and trainer feedback to find where learners struggle, then fix those lessons.
Keep Academy content aligned with hands-on training in Jacksonville and on-site trainer visits.
Coordinate with partner-delivered content, such as our \"how to clean\" course, so learners get one consistent experience.
Run the LMS
Administer the LMS: enroll buyers and operators, set up courses and learning paths, manage roles, permissions and certificates.
Track each learner's progress and confirm Academy completion, since no drone ships until the pilot completes the Academy and hands-on training.
Answer learner questions and nudge buyers who stall so they can schedule hands-on training sooner.
Report regularly on enrollments, completion times and pass rates.
Grow the Academy
Recommend new courses, certifications or tiers (e.g., refresher, advanced, or international versions) that improve operator results.
Help evaluate LMS tools and integrations, including connections to our customer portal.
Required Qualifications
FAA Part 107 License.
Drone training content built in an LMS (required). You have designed, produced and published drone or UAS training courses on an LMS such as TalentLMS, Thinkific, LearnDash, Docebo, Moodle or similar. Please share samples or links.
3+ years in instructional design, e-learning development or technical training.
Hands-on LMS administration: enrollments, learning paths, assessments, certificates and reporting.
Comfort with authoring and media tools to produce video, interactive and quiz content yourself.
Ability to learn complex hardware and software quickly and explain it plainly to people new to industrial drones.
Strong writing and organization; you can run a program with minimal oversight.
Nice to have
Experience with industrial, commercial or enterprise drone platforms (spraying, cleaning, inspection) rather than only consumer drones.
Background in the power washing, coatings or field-services trades.
Experience training a customer base (not just employees), including international learners; Spanish a plus.
Benefits
Federal holidays
401(k) and company contributions
Paid healthcare with Telehealth and counseling
To apply: send your resume and links to at least two drone training modules or courses you built in an LMS.
