Assistant Manager APM – AI
About the Role
We’re looking for a Product Manager to build the next generation of intelligent retail experiences at The Sleep Company. You’ll work at the intersection of AI, software, automation, and physical retail to solve interesting product challenges and build technology that changes how customers interact with products in-store.
From computer vision and AI-driven personalization to interactive product interfaces and automated recommendation systems, you’ll identify opportunities, define product solutions and work with engineering teams to bring them to life.
This is an opportunity to own a new product domain, experiment with emerging technologies, and take products from zero to one - with real-world deployment across a large retail network.
What You’ll Do
Own the product roadmap: Identify high-impact opportunities for AI and technology across the in-store customer journey, translate them into product requirements, and drive execution from discovery to deployment.
Build AI-powered products: Explore and develop solutions using AI/ML, computer vision, recommendation engines, conversational AI and other emerging technologies to enable smarter retail interactions.
Design intelligent product experiences: Build systems that help customers understand product features, compare alternatives, receive personalized recommendations and make informed decisions through real-time, interactive experiences.
Translate problems into technical solutions: Break down ambiguous customer and business problems into product specifications, user stories, system requirements, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
Drive end-to-end execution: Work closely with engineering, design, data, and external technology partners to prototype, test, launch and iterate on products.
Experiment and validate: Develop MVPs, run controlled pilots in stores, analyze product usage and performance, and use learnings to refine solutions before scaling.
Build for scale and reliability: Ensure products work seamlessly across store environments, hardware configurations and connectivity conditions, with a focus on performance, usability, reliability and maintainability.
Leverage data and automation: Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, integrate retail systems and use customer interaction data to continuously improve product performance.
Measure product outcomes: Define KPIs, track adoption and engagement, diagnose product friction, and use quantitative and qualitative insights to priorities improvements.
What We’re Looking For
Preferable (not mandatory) experience in product management : in AI/ML products, consumer tech, computer vision, IoT or other technology-led products.
Strong understanding of the product development lifecycle, from problem discovery and solution design to technical execution and iteration.
Ability to work with engineering teams on APIs, integrations, data flows, system architecture, and technical feasibility.
Familiarity with AI/ML applications and the ability to evaluate where emerging technologies can solve real problems.
Experience writing PRDs, defining user stories, building product roadmaps, and prioritizing backlogs.
A data-driven approach to product decisions, experimentation, and performance measurement.
Comfort operating in ambiguous, zero-to-one environments and taking ownership without waiting for predefined playbooks.
Strong stakeholder management and the ability to align technical teams around clear product outcomes.
