About the Role
The company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help maintain and improve its API Gateway and related traffic management systems. This role focuses on building scalable, reliable, and high-performance infrastructure that supports complex requirements such as rate limiting and request routing.
You will lead technical and architectural decisions, contribute hands-on to production code, and mentor other engineers. Working with a remote team, you will help solve infrastructure challenges, improve system performance, and support the reliability of services used by developers at scale.
Key Responsibilities
Lead technical decision-making and contribute to system architecture.
Design and implement scalable, reliable, and performant solutions for complex infrastructure challenges, including rate limiting and routing.
Maintain and improve the API Gateway and related traffic management systems.
Write, review, and maintain production code, primarily using Go and Ruby on Rails.
Mentor engineers and support their technical and architectural decision-making.
Participate in the on-call rotation to help maintain service reliability.
Contribute to team meetings and collaborative problem-solving.
Required Qualifications
At least 6 years of experience in software engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline.
Proven experience developing and maintaining production software using one or more programming languages, such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
At least 4 years of experience building and supporting large-scale, high-traffic applications in platform or infrastructure environments.
At least 4 years of experience building and supporting cloud-native workloads on Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
At least 2 years of experience maintaining an API Gateway.
Compensation and Benefits
Annual salary range: $124,000–$329,200 USD.
