About the Opportunity:
The STAFF BACKEND ENGINEER, USER SAFETY, plays a critical role in enhancing automated detection and enforcement systems using applied machine learning. This position drives technical and product strategies to ensure platform safety, collaborating across disciplines to create impactful solutions for a major internet site.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with product, data science, operations, and engineering teams to implement safety strategies.
Participate in the entire development lifecycle including design, coding, testing, experimentation, and deployment.
Lead and mentor a team of engineers, establishing standards and best practices to improve workflows.
Develop innovative solutions while continuously enhancing technical and interpersonal skills.
Requirements:
Over 8 years of experience in software development with languages such as Go, Python, Rust, or Ruby.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage projects effectively.
Self-directed and innovative mindset, capable of operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
Proven experience working remotely with cross-functional teams and communicating complex topics to varied audiences.
Applied machine learning experience is a plus.
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Base salary range: $217,000 to $303,900 USD.
Eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units and potential commissions depending on the role.
