Role Description This is a full-time, remote role for Medical Interpreters providing over-the-phone (OPI) and video remote interpreting (VRI) in Spanish-English. Day-to-day responsibilities include accurately interpreting medical information between patients and healthcare professionals, ensuring clarity, neutrality, and confidentiality at all times. The role involves working across various medical settings, following provider and company protocols, and adhering to industry standards and privacy regulations. Medical Interpreters will handle scheduled and on-demand calls or video sessions, maintain detailed records as required, and use the company’s proprietary platforms and tools. Collaboration with supervisors and support teams, ongoing training participation, and adherence to performance and quality metrics are expected.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Medical Interpretation and Interpreting skills, with proven experience in healthcare or clinical settings.
Candidates should possess solid Medical Terminology knowledge in both Spanish and English, including common diagnoses, procedures, and medications.
Candidates should possess Translation and Simultaneous Interpretation skills sufficient to handle real-time communication accurately and efficiently.
Fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent listening, speaking, and comprehension skills in both languages.
Ability to work remotely with reliable internet access, a quiet workspace, and proficiency using web-based platforms and communication tools.
Strong ethical standards, including respect for confidentiality, impartiality, and professional boundaries.
Relevant training or certification in medical interpreting or community interpreting; formal education in languages, translation, or related fields is a plus.
Previous experience in telehealth, call centers, or remote interpreting environments is beneficial.
