Location: Garden Shop, Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens, Lower Beeding, West Sussex
Contract: Temporary, late November to 31 December 2026
Hours: 2 hours per day, 7 days per week. Shifts run 6:00–8:00am or 7:00–9:00am.
Reporting to: Retail Management Team
Role Summary
Leonardslee Lakes & Gardens is recruiting a Seasonal Retail Cleaner for our Christmas event, Leonardslee Lights. The postholder will clean the shop floor, entrances and glazing each morning so the retail areas are ready to open to a high standard throughout the event.
Key Responsibilities
Clean all shop floors daily using an electric walk-behind floor cleaner (full training provided)
Clean the automatic entrance doors and wipe down windows and glazing
Vacuum entrance and shop rugs
Rotate rugs as scheduled and prepare used rugs for collection by our external cleaning contractor
Report any maintenance issues, damage or equipment faults to the retail management team
Follow all health & safety, hygiene and site security procedures
Requirements
Previous cleaning experience is preferred, and experience using a floor cleaning machine would be an advantage
Able to work early mornings reliably for the full duration of the event, including weekends
Able to work independently and to a consistently high standard
Physically able to carry out manual tasks, including pushing and manoeuvring equipment, bending, lifting and carrying
Own transport is preferred, due to the rural location and early start times. There is a bus route available.
