About the Role
We are seeking a Software Developer to join our software engineering team at our Farnborough facility. This is a hands-on technical role where you will be part of a team of software engineers in the development of software products and solutions and conducting code reviews.
Key Responsibilities
Working with a team of software engineers developing software, products and solutions and conducting code reviews.
Ensuring the successful delivery of software activities on time and within scope
Participate in investigation activities and technology assessments
Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team
Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions to maintain code quality and best practices
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and professional experience)
Minimum 2+ years of relevant work experience in software engineering and development
Experience of C/C++ programming with hands-on experience in production environments
Experience of Linux operating systems
Experience of Python programming with experience in real-world projects
Knowledge of software development methodologies and best practices (e.g., Agile, Scrum, CI/CD)
Awareness of the principles of version control systems
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
A willingness to develop new technical skills
Desirable Qualifications
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Awareness of software architecture and design patterns
Awareness of secure coding principles
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be eligible for high-level security clearance and meet the following criteria:
• UK national and British passport holder
• Sole nationality
• Minimum 5 years' UK residency
