About the Role
We are seeking a Software Developer to join our software engineering team at our Farnborough facility. This is a hands-on technical role where you will be part of a team of software engineers in the development of software products and solutions and conducting code reviews.
Key Responsibilities
Working with a team of software engineers developing software, products and solutions and conducting code reviews.
Ensuring the successful delivery of software activities on time and within scope
Participate in investigation activities and technology assessments
Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team
Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions to maintain code quality and best practices
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and professional experience)
Minimum 6+ years of relevant work experience in software engineering and development
Proficiency in C/C++ programming with hands-on experience in production environments
Proficiency in Linux operating systems
Proficiency in Python programming with experience in real-world projects
Demonstrated experience with software development methodologies and best practices (e.g., Agile, Scrum, CI/CD)
Experience with version control systems
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Desirable Qualifications
Relevant certifications or training (e.g., Agile/Scrum Master, cloud certifications)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Experience with software architecture and design patterns
Knowledge of security best practices and secure coding principles
UK Security Clearance eligibility is mandatory for this role.
Candidates must be:
Sole UK nationals (no dual nationality)
Holders of a valid British passport
Continuously resident in the UK for the past 5 years
