About the role
Develop the services and integrations behind QBYSS’s internal applications and business workflows. You’ll work with APIs, databases and application logic to make information reliable and accessible to authorised users.
What you’ll do
· Build and maintain APIs and backend services for defined requirements.
· Design database queries and support clean, consistent data handling.
· Implement validation, authentication and appropriate access controls.
· Investigate errors and improve logging, performance and reliability.
· Write tests and documentation and collaborate on code reviews and releases.
What we’re looking for
· Working knowledge of Python, JavaScript, TypeScript or another backend language.
· Understanding of HTTP APIs, relational databases and basic security principles.
· Experience using Git and debugging applications.
· Projects demonstrating backend functionality and clear code organisation.
Useful but not essential
· Experience with FastAPI, Django, Node.js or a similar framework.
· Exposure to cloud deployment, containers or automated testing.
