We listen and understand the specific needs of our clients and deliver a complete value chain of services to provide sustainable solutions across major infrastructure projects worldwide.
The Role
We are seeking a Digital Engineering Lead – VIC/TAS to lead and strengthen Digital Engineering capability across our infrastructure projects in Victoria and Tasmania, with a particular focus on Transport and Rail & Metro sectors.
Based in Melbourne, you will work closely with project, technical and leadership teams to improve how Digital Engineering is applied across our projects. You will provide practical leadership and guidance, helping teams meet client requirements, project objectives and relevant industry standards.
A key part of the role is connecting Digital Engineering capability with continuous improvement in project delivery. You will work with project teams, clients, and our delivery teams to improve digital delivery, design, coordination and information management, while identifying practical opportunities for automation and innovation.
You will also help build capability across VIC/TAS through coaching, guidance and knowledge sharing, while promoting consistent and effective Digital Engineering practices across projects. You will play an important part in the ANZ Digital Delivery leadership team, helping position SMEC as a leader in the infrastructure sector.
About You
You will bring strong Digital Engineering and BIM experience gained within an engineering design consultancy or similar multidisciplinary environment. Just as importantly, you will be able to lead, influence, and build trusted relationships with people across different disciplines, projects and locations.
Ideally, you will have:
Strong experience across Digital Engineering and BIM within multidisciplinary infrastructure projects
A good understanding of Victorian and Australian standards relating to modeling and information management
Experience managing and coordinating multidisciplinary models, federation, and digital project information
Experience working across key technology providers, for example Autodesk, Bentley and 12D for project design and documentation
Experience with project information and collaboration platforms
A good understanding of how different design disciplines, systems and information work together across complex projects
Provide practical leadership, coaching and guidance to multidisciplinary project teams
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to work directly with project leaders and clients
A practical approach to improving project delivery through better digital processes, automation and innovation
The ability to promote consistent ways of working while adapting to different project and client requirements.
Don't meet every requirement? We still encourage you to apply. We recognise that talent comes from many different experiences and backgrounds, and we're committed to creating an inclusive culture for people from all walks of life.
