Full Stack Development - Java

As a Custom Software Engineering Senior Analyst or Consultant, a typical day involves designing, developing, and maintaining full-stack enterprise applications using Java, Spring, and React technologies. The role requires modernising legacy applications, enhancing platform capabilities, and delivering scalable software solutions that meet evolving business needs. The position focuses on backend service development, frontend user interface enhancements, API integrations, and application modernisation initiatives. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to ensure high-quality software delivery, maintain system stability, and support continuous improvement across the development lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Drive technical design decisions, code reviews, mentoring, and best practices.
Expected to be an SME, collaborate and contribute effectively to project deliverables.
Develop and maintain backend services using Java, Jakarta Servlet, Spring Framework, and related technologies.
Participate in application modernisation initiatives, including migration of legacy libraries and frameworks to supported versions.
Design, develop, and enhance user interfaces using React.js and modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
Build and integrate RESTful APIs while ensuring seamless communication between frontend and backend components.
Implement secure coding practices and ensure compliance with enterprise and industry standards.
Requirements:
Proficiency in Java, Jakarta EE Servlet API, Spring Framework, React.js, JavaScript (ES6+), and TypeScript.
Strong experience in developing scalable enterprise applications and RESTful services.
Expertise in React fundamentals, Hooks, state management, and component lifecycle.
Knowledge of HTML5 CSS3 responsive web design, and frontend optimisation techniques.
Experience with API integration, asynchronous data handling, and form validation frameworks.
Familiarity with Jackson, Apache POI, Log4j2 Hibernate Validator, HikariCP, and file upload handling.
Experience with version control systems, testing frameworks, and modern development tools.
Good-to-have skills: Spring Boot, legacy-to-modern framework migration experience, and banking/financial domain exposure.
Additional Information:
The candidate should have 3 to 5 years of relevant software development experience.
A University degree in Computer Science, Banking, or equivalent working experience is preferred.
Strong understanding of secure coding practices, authentication mechanisms (JWT-OAuth), and application security standards is required.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively across teams.
Experience in financial services or banking technology environments will be an added advantage.
