This role contributes directly to NORCAP’s commitment to strengthening locally led responses by supporting the systems, partnerships, and knowledge-sharing initiatives that help national civil society organisations grow, collaborate, and increase their impact.
PLRCAP (Promoting Local Response Capacities and Partnership) supports Nigerian local and national civil society organisations through organisational development, technical assistance, mentoring, learning opportunities, and institutional capacity strengthening. Through its NGO Support Hub, PLRCAP provides access to resources, expertise, peer learning, communities of practice, and partnership opportunities that help organisations strengthen their effectiveness and sustainability. Founded by the Nigerian International Non-Governmental Organisation Forum and now part of NORCAP, PLRCAP forms part of NORCAP's Lake Chad Localisation Programme.

The Role
The PLRCAP Project Technical Assistant (Admin & Comms) provides day-to-day administrative, operational, while also supporting publicity and communications functions. Success in this role means ensuring the smooth delivery of programme activities, maintaining efficient systems and processes, and supporting the visibility and engagement of PLRCAP’s learning, partnership, and capacity-strengthening initiatives.
The position is based in Abuja, Nigeria, with up to 15% travel within the country.
This is a national contract for six months and reports to the PLRCAP Project Manager.
NB. This position is open exclusively to Nigerian citizens holding a valid Nigerian passport
To excel in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:
University degree in Management, Social Sciences, Communications, or another relevant field.
Minimum 1-2 years of professional experience in administration, operations, communications, or project support and procurement, particularly within an international NGO or humanitarian/development organisation, is required. Experience within NORCAP/NRC is an added advantage.
Experience managing social media platforms, developing digital content, and using content management systems and analytics tools is an advantage
Strong organisational, administrative, communication, and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with content creation and design tools such as Canva or Adobe Photoshop; experience with basic image or video editing is an advantage.
Experience in localisation, humanitarian action, crisis recovery, community resilience, or civil society capacity strengthening is highly desirable. Knowledge of local languages is an advantage. Please read the attached terms of reference for more details before applying.
