About the role and team
Working at Uber means solving hard problems in a high-stakes, fast-moving environment. As a Strategy & Planning Manager, you will join the analytical engine that helps steer the business, working side-by-side with senior leaders to shape the future direction of our global operations. This role is about finding and pursuing the next big opportunities, ensuring we remain accountable for results, and uncovering data-driven insights that help leaders make better, more informed decisions.
You’ll need to take ownership, stay adaptable, and build with both urgency and care in a culture that empowers excellence. Our team runs high-priority strategy projects that require navigating a complex, matrixed organization to drive action and results. If you are energized by challenge and motivated by real-world impact—this is where you’ll grow.
What you’ll do

Build and lead collaborative working models from the ground up, aligning Product, Ops, Engineering, and Legal to ship results in a high-complexity environment.
Bridge the gap between data and action, turning messy datasets into clear, compelling narratives that drive decision-making for senior executive leadership.
Own the evaluation of future growth bets, scoping new opportunities across verticals and industries through high-stakes quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Identify the "big rocks" in our operating models, driving strategic projects that relentlessly simplify the complex to achieve global impact.
Step into the operational gaps and the "messy middle," unblocking local teams on critical initiatives with a bias for action and a steady hand in ambiguous environments.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of work experience in corporate strategy, consulting, investment banking, or analytical operations.
1+ year of people management or equivalent leadership experience.
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., Economics, Business, STEM).
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s) in Economics, Business, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
Exceptional technical skills, with proficiency in SQL and experience using data to drive business decisions.
Proven experience in communicating with and presenting complex information to senior leaders.
Demonstrated success in navigating ambiguity and prioritizing competing initiatives in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
Strong business acumen with the ability to connect data-driven insights to real-world business challenges and strategic opportunities.
Experience leading large cross-functional projects and a track record of influencing without direct authority.
High-growth operations or startup experience is strongly preferred.
Strong business acumen, with experience evaluating a line of business holistically and understanding how to drive growth, both short and long-term.
Excellent presentation and communication skills, with experience managing cross functional partnerships and relationships.
Ability to set strategic vision, set initiatives and OKRs, build, develop, and lead a strong team.
For New York City, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $162,000 per year - USD $180,000 per year.
You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
