Building something new
A leading European manufacturer is establishing its India shared-services centre, and the production-support functions inside it — planning, quality, and process engineering — are being built without much of the legacy process debt its older plants carry. That is the opening: a chance to set improvement practice as a habit from the start rather than retrofit it onto a plant that has run one way for twenty years. Flexiple is hiring the Continuous Improvement Manager who will do that.
The centre is still early in its build-out, so this role reports into centre operations leadership directly and has real say over which processes get standardised first.
The mandate here
You would run structured improvement projects across the centre's production-support processes, using Lean and Six Sigma methods to find and remove waste, rework, and unnecessary handoffs. That means leading kaizen events and value-stream mapping exercises, training process owners to run their own smaller improvement cycles rather than depending on you for every fix, and building the metrics dashboard that shows leadership where the centre stands quarter over quarter.
Lead Lean or Six Sigma improvement projects across production-support processes
Run value-stream mapping and kaizen events with cross-functional teams
Build and maintain the improvement metrics dashboard for centre leadership
Train process owners on basic improvement tools so gains hold after you move on
How the work is structured
This is an individual seat for now, working closely with quality, planning, and plant engineering rather than leading a dedicated improvement team, though that may change as the centre grows.
What it takes
3 to 8 years in a continuous-improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma role inside manufacturing
A recognised Lean or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt at minimum)
A portfolio of improvement projects with real before-and-after numbers
Where you'd sit
On-site at the centre in Pune or Chennai; the shop-floor and gemba-walk nature of the role means this is not offered remotely.
