The Supreme Industries Ltd., founded in 1942, is a recognized leader in India’s plastics industry and one of the country’s largest plastic processors by volume.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Design Engineer role based in the Pune. The Design Engineer will work on developing and refining product designs for plastic components and systems, ensuring that designs meet performance, safety, and manufacturability requirements. Responsibilities include creating and updating 3D models and technical drawings using CAD tools, collaborating with cross-functional teams in engineering, production, and quality, and supporting prototyping and testing activities. The role involves analyzing design data, optimizing designs for cost and efficiency, and incorporating feedback from manufacturing and customers into design improvements. The Design Engineer will also contribute to documentation, adherence to standards, and continuous innovation in line with Supreme’s product portfolio.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Design Engineering and Product Design, with the ability to translate requirements into practical and manufacturable solutions.
Solid background in Mechanical Engineering, including knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and structural analysis relevant to plastic products.
Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) for 3D modeling, detailing, and design documentation.
Basic understanding of Electrical Engineering concepts as applied to products or systems that integrate mechanical and electrical components.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; advanced qualifications or certifications in CAD or product design are an advantage.
Experience in plastics, polymers, or manufacturing environments is preferred, along with familiarity with injection, extrusion, or other moulding processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Effective communication skills and the ability to manage multiple design tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced industrial setting.
