Warehouse Operations Manager
A global logistics leader is building its India warehousing and fulfilment centre and has retained Flexiple to hire the manager who will run its first large-format facility floor. This is a founding hire on the operations side of that centre, not a slot in an existing structure.
Base: Mumbai, Chennai
The facility today
The India centre is standing up a multi-client warehousing operation, handling inbound, storage, and outbound fulfilment for a small but growing set of accounts. The systems and layout are largely decided; what is missing is the person who runs the floor day to day and makes the operating rhythm work in practice rather than on paper.
What you'd manage
Own daily floor operations: receiving, put-away, storage allocation, and outbound dispatch against SLA
Manage shift rosters, labour planning, and productivity targets for the warehouse floor
Run inventory accuracy programmes, including cycle counts and variance investigation
Track and report throughput, dock-to-stock time, and order-accuracy metrics to centre leadership
Lead safety compliance on the floor, including incident reporting and corrective action
Coordinate with transport and last-mile teams so outbound schedules hold under peak load
What it needs
3 to 8 years managing warehouse or fulfilment-centre floor operations
Direct experience with a WMS and with multi-client or multi-SKU storage environments
A track record improving throughput or accuracy metrics with evidence to show for it
Comfort managing a shift-based labour force, including contract and third-party staff
Where you'd be based
On-site at the centre in Mumbai or Chennai; given the floor-management nature of the role, this is not offered as a hybrid or remote seat.
