Plant Head – Operations & Maintenance

Key Accountabilities:
a) Deliver the approved production plan with Planning, Stores and Quality.
b) Ensure people, materials, equipment and storage are ready.
c) Lead maintenance, repairs, utilities and critical spares through the engineering team.
d) Improve yield and reduce waste, breakdowns and operating costs.
e) Maintain food safety, batch traceability, accurate records and shift handovers.
f) Coach supervisors, assign clear responsibilities and train backups for key roles .
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
a) Production plan achieved and orders ready on time.
b) Equipment downtime and repeat breakdowns.
c) Yield, waste and costs against agreed standards.
d) Planned maintenance and corrective actions completed on time.
e) Staff training, backup cover and accurate records.
Targets agreed with the CEO after reviewing performance in the first 30 days.
Additional functions of the job holder:
a) Lead short daily reviews with clear actions, owners and dates.
b) Support audits, approved product trials and factory improvements.
c) Stop unsafe or out-of-specification work and report it immediately.
d) Follow spending and process-change approvals. Quality retains product-release authority.
Fundamental Requirements/Qualifications:
a) Typically 10–15 years in food manufacturing, with production leadership and maintenance/utilities oversight. Equivalent proven capability considered.
b) Relevant food, dairy or engineering qualification; strong practical experience also considered.
c) Able to lead teams, solve problems and improve performance.
d) Comfortable with Excel and factory records.
e) Working English and effective Hindi and/or Marathi communication.
f) Full-time, on-site at Jejuri, with coordination across shifts.
