Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Student Counsellor role based in Madhavaram. The Student Counsellor will engage with prospective and current learners to understand their academic background, interests, and goals, providing guidance on suitable courses and career pathways. Daily responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counselling sessions, explaining program details, coordinating admissions processes, and maintaining accurate student records. The role involves answering inquiries in person, by phone, and online, ensuring each learner receives timely information and a positive experience. The Student Counsellor will collaborate with the academic and administrative teams to support enrollments, follow up with leads, organize counselling events or orientations, and contribute to student retention and satisfaction.
Qualifications
Strong student counseling and career counseling skills to guide learners in academic and professional decisions.
Excellent communication abilities, including clear verbal and written interaction with students, families, and colleagues.
Customer service skills to provide respectful, responsive, and solution-oriented support to all learners.
Background or interest in education, training, or academic advising to understand course structures and learning outcomes.
Ability to build trust and rapport with diverse learners, with a supportive and non-judgmental approach.
Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple counselling sessions, inquiries, and documentation efficiently.
Comfort using basic computer applications, student databases, and communication tools.
Prior experience in counselling, admissions, or student services is preferred.
Relevant diploma or degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field is an advantage.
