Role Description The Computer Aided Design (CAD) Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. The person in this role will create and modify detailed technical drawings and 2D/3D CAD models for construction, product, or engineering projects according to project specifications and standards. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting design inputs, preparing construction drawings, updating design revisions, and coordinating with engineers and project managers to resolve technical issues. The CAD Designer will maintain organized drawing files, ensure compliance with relevant codes and company guidelines, and support documentation needed for approvals, fabrication, and installation. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, attending design reviews, and providing accurate visual documentation to support smooth project execution.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Technical Drawing for creating precise engineering and construction documentation.
Candidates should possess Drawing abilities and experience with Construction Drawings to translate design concepts into practical, buildable plans.
Candidates should possess Design Engineering skills to understand engineering principles, apply design standards, and support project optimization.
Relevant diploma or degree in Mechanical, Civil, Architectural, or related engineering/design discipline.
Proficiency in common CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar tools) and familiarity with industry drawing standards.
Strong attention to detail, ability to read and interpret technical documents, and commitment to accuracy and quality.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work on-site in Chennai and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
Prior experience in construction, manufacturing, or engineering design projects is beneficial.
