Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and ownership of backend systems and APIs using Node.js and Python.
Architect scalable, reliable, and secure backend services to support AI-driven workflows and large document processing.
Build and maintain RESTful APIs and ensure seamless integration with frontend systems.
Work on asynchronous processing, background jobs, task queues, and workflow orchestration using Python frameworks.
Lead and mentor a team of engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and best practices.
Collaborate closely with front-end engineers (React/MERN) to deliver end-to-end features.
Drive architectural decisions, performance optimizations, and technical roadmaps.
Build, integrate, and maintain LLM-based features, OCR pipelines, and AI-powered systems.
Deploy and maintain AI services in production (Kubernetes, FastAPI backends).
Evaluate and improve LLM outputs through systematic testing and iteration
Ensure code quality, scalability, observability, and reliability across backend services.
Partner with product, design, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver high-quality releases.
Requirements:
7+ years of experience in backend, full-stack, or product engineering roles.
Strong hands-on experience with Node.js for building scalable backend services and APIs.
Strong hands-on experience with Python for backend development, async processing, and background jobs.
Working experience with React.js and the MERN stack, with a clear backend-first focus.
Prior experience leading or mentoring engineers and owning technical outcomes.
Solid understanding of JavaScript (ES6+), asynchronous programming, and modern web architecture.
Experience with backend frameworks such as Flask, Celery, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of distributed systems, async task queues, and background processing.
Exposure to generative AI, LLM integrations, OCR, or document processing systems is a strong plus.
Familiarity with databases, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and version control (Git).
Strong problem-solving skills with a product-driven, ownership mindset.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-ownership startup environment.
