We are seeking an experienced Principal Compiler Engineer to lead the development of the system software stack bridging custom silicon and high-performance applications. This role focuses on compiler infrastructure, embedded firmware, Linux kernel optimisation, and real-time signal processing with sub-millisecond latency requirements. The ideal candidate has extensive experience delivering production-grade LLVM compiler pipelines within semiconductor organisations, embedded system bring-up, and formal verification for safety-critical real-time systems.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop custom LLVM backend passes, including SelectionDAG, GlobalISel, MIR optimisations, and register allocator enhancements.
Build compiler fuzzing infrastructure and formal verification frameworks using Alive2 SMT/SAT solvers and differential testing to ensure compiler correctness.
Develop embedded device drivers and communication protocol stacks.
Work with Linux Kernel, RT-PREEMPT, SCHED_FIFO, kernel modules, and deterministic real-time scheduling.
Optimise applications across CPU and GPU architectures using profiling and debugging tools such as: Author Software Requirements Documents (SRDs) and Software Design Documents (SDDs).
Lead architecture discussions, design reviews, and mentor engineering teams.
Collaborate with hardware teams during silicon bring-up, BSP development, and pre-tape-out activities.
