About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
We are looking for a hands-on HR Business Partner who will work closely with the founders and leadership team to strengthen Arrowhead's people and culture. This is not a traditional HR operations role. The person will be expected to identify cultural and organizational issues, have difficult conversations when required, coach managers, improve employee engagement, and establish clear systems around performance, accountability, communication, and values.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose existing culture, engagement, and people challenges across teams and create an actionable improvement plan.
Partner directly with founders and functional leaders on organizational and people decisions.
Build a culture of high ownership, accountability, transparency, and performance.
Strengthen the performance management process, including goal setting, feedback, reviews, PIPs, and recognition.
Coach managers on team management, feedback, conflict resolution, and difficult conversations.
Conduct regular employee connects, pulse checks, and skip-level conversations to identify concerns early.
Resolve employee relations and interpersonal issues with maturity, confidentiality, and fairness.
Improve onboarding and employee experience while ensuring new hires understand Arrowhead's culture and expectations.
Define and reinforce company values and expected behaviors across the organization.
Improve communication and collaboration between leadership and employees.
Identify retention risks and work with leadership on practical interventions.
Support organization design, career paths, promotions, succession planning, and leadership development as the company scales.
Use people data such as attrition, engagement, performance, and retention to identify patterns and recommend actions.
Within the first 6-12 months, success would mean:
Clearer organizational values and expected behaviors.
Stronger managerial accountability.
Better feedback and performance-management discipline.
Improved employee engagement and communication.
Faster identification and resolution of people issues.
Reduced regrettable attrition.
A stronger, healthier, and more performance-oriented culture as Arrowhead scales.
Requirements:
4-8 years of HR experience, with meaningful experience as an HRBP / People Partner / Culture and Engagement Partner.
Experience working in a startup, SaaS, technology, or other fast-paced organization is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience handling culture transformation, performance management, and employee relations.
Comfortable working directly with founders, CXOs, and senior stakeholders.
Strong ability to influence people without relying purely on authority.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to conduct difficult and sensitive conversations.
High emotional intelligence combined with a strong bias towards accountability and execution.
Should be comfortable operating in an environment where processes may need to be built from scratch.
What We Are Specifically Looking For:
Someone who can balance employee empathy with business performance.
The ideal HRBP should be able to understand why teams are disengaged or underperforming, challenge managers where required, create trust with employees, and translate cultural issues into concrete organizational actions.
This role would suit someone who enjoys building culture rather than simply administering HR processes.
