About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
We are hiring our first AE for India. This person owns the new logo revenue from day one. Prospecting, qualifying, demoing, negotiating, closing. No SDR feeding you. No account manager taking over after close. Just you and the market.
Responsibilities:
Your pipeline, built by you: LinkedIn, events, referrals, cold email, communities. Whatever works. You figure out where your buyers are and you go there. No SDR is warming these up for you. Your quota starts with your ability to build a list and book a meeting.
Full cycle selling: Prospect to discovery to demo to proposal to commercial negotiation to close. You run the whole thing. We will support you on technical depth or leadership alignment, but the deal is yours to move.
Market intelligence: You are our ears on the ground. What is the ICP actually worried about? Where does our pitch land? Where does it fall flat? What is the competition saying? Bring that back and help shape how we go to market.
Co-authoring the playbook: The India GTM motion does not exist yet. You will help define it. Sequences, talk tracks, which segments to prioritize, and what deal sizes make sense. Early AEs at startups do not just execute a playbook; they write it.
Requirements:
Prior experience selling cybersecurity services or products. VAPT, SOC, endpoint, GRC, cloud security, or similar. You understand the buyer without needing to be educated on the space.
Deals averaging $20K MRR or equivalent ACV. Not one-off projects. Recurring contracts where the buyer signs a meaningful check.
Self-sourced pipeline. You have built lists, written outreach, and booked meetings cold. Not just work that landed in your lap.
Startup experience. Series A or earlier. You know what it means to operate without full infrastructure around you.
Comfortable travelling across India for on-sites, events, and early relationship building.
4 or more years in B2B sales with a track record in mid-market or enterprise.
Right Fit:
You have been first or second AE at a startup and built a territory from scratch.
Your best deals came from opportunities you found and created yourself.
Ambiguity does not paralyse you. It motivates you to figure it out.
You want equity upside and to be part of building something real.
You have sold cyber and understand why security buyers buy.
Experience
3-4 yrs
