QA Engineer

We are looking for a detail-oriented Software Quality Engineer with 2-4 years of experience in manual and automation testing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of enterprise applications by validating business requirements, designing effective test strategies, executing comprehensive test plans, and building automated test suites. You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams to deliver high-quality software in an Agile environment.
The candidate will have responsibilities across the following functions:
Product Understanding and Quality Planning:
Understand business workflows, customer journeys, product requirements, and operational processes.
Participate in requirement reviews, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and design discussions.
Identify quality risks, dependencies, and test coverage requirements during the early stages of development.
Apply risk-based testing principles to maximise quality and test coverage.
Design test strategies, test scenarios, test cases, and test data for assigned features and releases.
Quality Validation and Release Support:
Own quality validation for assigned modules and releases.
Execute functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and end-to-end testing.
Validate business rules, workflows, user journeys, and data integrity.
Perform UI and API testing, and manage defects with clear impact analysis.
Participate in defect triage, perform root cause analysis of escaped defects, and contribute to preventive actions.
Support QA, UAT, release rollouts, and post-release validation activities.
Automation and Engineering Excellence:
Develop, maintain, and execute automated UI and API test suites using Java, Selenium, TestNG, and Rest Assured.
Identify regression scenarios suitable for automation.
Promote shift-left testing practices, early defect prevention, and continuous quality improvement.
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams to improve quality engineering practices and CI/CD processes.
Agile Collaboration:
Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Contribute to improving QA processes, reusable test assets, and engineering best practices.
Take ownership of deliverables while continuously learning and adapting to new technologies.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
2-4 years of experience in Software Testing or Quality Engineering.
Strong hands-on experience in manual testing of web or enterprise applications.
Hands-on experience with Java, Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, and Rest Assured.
Good understanding of functional, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing.
Experience with defect management and bug tracking tools.
Basic SQL skills for database validation and data verification.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
Knowledge of Git or other version control systems.
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience with performance or security testing is a plus.
