Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities:
Architect, build, and scale backend systems to support AI-driven financial workflows.
Design APIs and data pipelines that meet enterprise-grade standards for performance, security, and reliability.
Lead infrastructure decisions across data modelling, scaling, auth, deployments, and observability.
Collaborate with AI and product teams to ship features that are robust, fast, and easy to maintain.
Contribute to a strong engineering culture by upholding clean design, code quality, and knowledge sharing.
Stay up to date with backend, cloud, and security best practices as we grow.
Requirements:
4+ years of backend development experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and modern frameworks (e. g., NestJS).
Experience designing and implementing REST APIs.
Experience with Redis, microservices, and event-driven systems.
Strong grasp of relational and NoSQL databases, especially PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
Familiarity with authentication and authorization systems (JWT, OAuth2 SSO).
Hands-on experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployments.
Solid testing discipline (e. g., Jest, SuperTest) and version control practices (Git).
Strong communication skills and a bias toward ownership and clarity.
Preferred:
Proven ability to build products from scratch (0 to 1 experience).
Familiarity with AI application development in production.
Prior exposure to Azure, AWS, or GCP in production.
Understanding of performance and cost trade-offs in distributed systems.
Interest in or experience with LLMs and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems.
