Engineering Manager

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead, coach, and scale a team of high-performing engineers building distributed backend systems and cloud applications. In this role, you will balance people management, system architecture oversight, and cross-functional execution to deliver scalable, resilient software.
Responsibilities:
People and Team Leadership: Hire, mentor, and retain a team of software engineers. Conduct performance evaluations, establish clear career development paths, and build an inclusive, high-ownership engineering culture.
Technical Direction and Architecture: Oversee system design and architectural trade-offs for large-scale distributed applications, balancing delivery speed, system resilience, and scalability.
Delivery and Process: Partner with Product, Design, and QA leadership to align on roadmaps, manage project execution, and refine agile development workflows.
Quality and Engineering Standards: Drive best practices across API design, automated testing, continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD), and operational monitoring.
Requirements:
Management: 2+ years of formal people management experience leading software engineers (including performance appraisals, career mentoring, and hiring).
Technical Foundation: 8+ years of software engineering background designing and building applications using Java and modern frameworks (Spring Boot / Spring MVC).
Distributed Systems: Hands-on experience designing and scaling distributed systems, microservices, and asynchronous architecture patterns.
Cloud and Data Systems: Experience with cloud technologies (AWS services such as EC2 S3 RDS) and database systems (MySQL, MongoDB).
