Engineering Manager

Deutsche Telekom Digital Labs is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, and scaling of next-generation AI platforms and Agentic AI systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical depth in LLMs, GenAI frameworks, distributed systems, and modern AI orchestration architectures, along with proven people leadership experience. You will work closely with product, architecture, and business stakeholders to build scalable AI-driven applications and intelligent autonomous workflows that power innovative digital experiences.
Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor high-performing engineering teams working on Agentic AI and GenAI platforms.
Architect and build scalable AI systems leveraging LLMs, autonomous agents, and multi-agent workflows.
Drive end-to-end development of AI-powered products from concept to production deployment.
Design orchestration frameworks using tools such as LangGraph, LangChain, and workflow automation platforms.
Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and platform teams to define technical roadmaps.
Ensure engineering best practices around scalability, observability, security, testing, and reliability.
Build reusable AI components, APIs, and microservices for enterprise-grade applications.
Optimize LLM performance, prompt engineering strategies, RAG pipelines, and inference workflows.
Evaluate emerging AI technologies and define adoption strategies aligned with business goals.
Manage delivery timelines, technical execution, and stakeholder communication across cross-functional teams.
Requirements:
11-15 years of overall software engineering experience with recent hands-on exposure to GenAI ecosystems.
Strong expertise in building and scaling Agentic AI systems and autonomous AI workflows.
Hands-on experience with LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Llama, etc. ), LangGraph / LangChain, Generative AI architectures, RAG pipelines and vector databases, Prompt engineering and AI orchestration frameworks.
Strong programming experience in Python, Java, or Golang.
Experience designing distributed systems and microservices-based architectures.
Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Strong understanding of API integrations, AI observability, and production deployment practices.
Proven experience in engineering leadership, team management, and stakeholder collaboration.
